The transformation of the wellness areas reimagines the pool, gym, and spa into a holistic destination that balances vitality with serenity. The design establishes a resort-like ambience in the heart of the city, framing views of the Singapore skyline and Flyer while immersing guests in a lush, sensory landscape.
Nature is carefully woven into the experience. Willows along the waterside reeds and fountain grasses surrounding the pool evoke a sense of calm, while colourful bauhinias add a vibrant accent of orange. Floating daybeds rest gently on the water, blending seamlessly with the greenery, while timber-lined decks introduce warmth and tactility, recalling the intimacy of a resort retreat.

Spatially, the ceiling has been opened to the gallery above, creating a petite double-volume that enhances airiness and light. This gesture lends the feeling of a pavilion – an open, flowing space that connects indoors with outdoors and frames wellness as a journey.
To complete the experience, a wellness bar offers nourishing fare, reinforcing the philosophy of balance and closing the wellness loop. The design emphasizes the senses – sight, sound, touch – to evoke a distinctive Asian calmness, reflecting the essence of graceful hospitality.
The landscape design strategy at PARKROYAL on Beach Road is rooted in the idea of creating a sanctuary that reflects a distinctive Asian calmness and exuberance, expressed through a thoughtfully curated aquatic landscape. A resort-like feel is achieved through the careful layering of greenery, water, and structure—creating a space that feels both luxurious and naturally immersive. Daybeds nestled within beds of green offer secluded spots for relaxation, allowing guests to unwind in comfort while remaining connected to the landscape.
A diverse selection of plant species native to Singapore forms the backbone of the design, supporting biodiversity while celebrating local ecology. Trees and shrubs with drooping, graceful forms—such as weeping willows and pennisetum—enhance the serene ambiance, while pollinator-attracting species like passiflora and melastoma invite butterflies, bees, and birds into the landscape.
The vibrancy of the space is further amplified with bold accent plants such as Livistona eudauensis, adding explosive drama and texture through the foliage. Aquatic-friendly species like artemisia and the monarch fern (Microsorum) blur the boundaries between planting and water, reinforcing the immersive, garden-like character of the pool environment. Altogether, the landscape offers a harmonious blend of serenity and vitality, transforming the poolside into a lush, living retreat.
